Position Overview

LCM seeks an innovative and energetic Youth Director to build, grow, and lead a vibrant youth ministry for ages 3–18. This role will nurture faith, community, and engagement in the life of our church, partnering with staff and volunteers to ensure our young people are seen, heard, and loved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage children and youth in worship, education, and leadership opportunities within LCM.

  • Collaborate with the pastor and ministry volunteers to plan, lead, and grow vibrant programs for ages 3–18.

  • Lead weekly Sunday School (ages 3–12) and coordinate ongoing youth programming (grades 6–12).

  • Create service‑learning and outreach experiences for children, youth, and families.

  • Communicate youth‑ministry updates and opportunities to the congregation and broader community.

  • Recruit, train, and support ministry volunteers in compliance with LCM’s and ELCA’s child‑protection policies.

  • Participate in youth service trips and regional/national ELCA gatherings as the program grows.

Requirements

  • A deep Christian faith and commitment to the ELCA tradition.

  • A collaborative team‑player attitude: you listen well, discern prayerfully, and lead with integrity.

  • Experience in children’s and youth ministry—designing, implementing, and leading programs.

  • Energy, creativity, and compassion for working with youth and families.

  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills; comfort using social media and basic digital tools.

Compensation

  • $25–$30 per hour (depending on experience).
