Youth of the Master
By the guidance of God, we will extend our hearts to all
students, encourage their relationship with the Lord, and
equip them to be ministers of the Word.
Please Welcome Brandi Acosta , LCM's new Director of Youth Ministries E-mail Brandi.
We have a variety of ministries for all ages.
Camp K3
Camp K3 provides our young ones in kindergarten through 3rd grade with
seasonal activites for fun and fellowship in Christ. This is our newest
group addition to the youth program. Activity examples: Christmas
party, Easter Celebration
God Squad
The God Squad provides Christian growth to our 4th-6th grade students.
The God Squad uses games and group building activities to promote faith
development. The primary goal is for students to find a positive
identity in Christ and the Church. Activity examples: Bimonthy
activities (such as Game Day or Rock Climbing), and group time Sunday
mornings
Junior High/Confirmation
The purpose of confirmation is to teach students the principles
of Christian faith through the Lutheran understanding. Through service
events, fellowship activities, and small and large group learning, the
students will be able to transfer the knowledge of this faith into use
in their own lives. Activity Examples: Bowling, Lutheran Servant Day
Junior High Parent Support Team
The JH Parent Support Team offers parents of junior high age student's
support, guidance, and open dialogue for concerns and questions they
may have. They have a topic-based meeting once each month to provide
parents with information regarding issues that effect their children,
such as Internet safety, eating disorders and sibling rivalry.
LUGs (Living Unit Groups)
LUGs provides an additional opportunity for our high school students to
reflect on their faith and become deeply rooted in Christ. With a
strong foundation in the Lord, they are encouraged to live out the
ministry in their lives. This group currently meets twice a month at
student's homes on Sunday evenings.
Senior High
We meet Sunday mornings during the education hour and hold a Biblical
study and see how it applies to our lives. We engage in service
projects in the community as well as fellowship time. Activity
examples: lock-in, Service trip to Juarez, MX
Journeys
Journeys is our mid-week worship for junior and senior high students.
It begins with a praise time with our Journeys Band, then we share a
meal and break into small groups (boys & girls). During our small
group time, we share our joys and struggles for the week and discuss
how the situations can be handled in a Christian manner. Because the
students are bombarded with knowledge and challenges during the school
days, we use this as an opportunity for them to vent their frustrations
in a safe environment.
HeBrews Cafe
This is our youth run coffee shop that creates specialty drinks for
worshippers between the two services. We make flavored lattes and
mochas, as well as steamers, Americanos, and Hot Cocoa. We will soon be
offering a wider variety of flavors, including sugar-free.
High School Parents
This ministry team offers the parents of high schoolers a time to come
together and fellowship (usually over a meal) without their students.
Parents can either choose to discuss their kids or talk about anything
BUT their children, it is their choice!
If you would like to volunteer with
any of these ministries, or have ideas for new ministry opportunities,
please contact Brandi Acosta.
